SAT. APRIL 16, 2016

In 2014, we hosted our first Annual Owl Creek Gazette Self-Reliance EXPO, followed by our Second Annual Expo in 2015. Both events were a mix of vendors/exhibitors and speakers/workshops. However, in 2016, we switched things up a bit and eliminated the trade show aspect of the event, shifting the full focus toward a speaker/learning experience.

As such, the term EXPO didn't seem to fit with the new approach. To better accommodate the change, we considered calling the event a SYMPOSIUM. However, we found ourselves  -- and others -- continuing to refer to the event as an Expo -- so OCG Co-Editor Don Stover had the idea to use the word "EXPOSIUM" as kind of a cool blending of the two approaches (past and present) while keeping some continuity (with a bit of change in the mix). We ran the name change idea by a number of OCG readers, past EXPO goers, and friends before officially announcing the new name ... and it seemed to be a hit with input bringing about such comments as:

"Terrific play on words. . .. love it!!!"
"It sounds like a great place to have "exposure" to new ideas"
"Since your magazine exposes the truth about issues other media seem to avoid all together, Exposium seems very fitting."
