With life's unexpected changes has come necessary changes to our beloved Owl Creek Gazette too. As such, a new business model has been developing which is not only reflected in our recent name change and updated logo, but in this new description of who we are and what we do!

The new Owl Creek Publications (OCP) is an outgrowth of our original Owl Creek Gazette magazine's direction and vision and is owned and operated by Jan Stover.

Jan and her late husband, Don Stover, were the original OCG Co-Editors, Publishers and Founders of the magazine. (See more on the Stovers below.)

Owl Creek Publications will serve as a resource guide and clearing house for publications and products produced by and/or associated with the original OCG ... an umbrella business to all things Owl Creek related!

OCP will oversee such publications and products as 1) the Owl Creek Gazette Business Licensing Agreements (creating an opportunity for interested individuals -- one per state -- to own and operated their own OCG magazine! Currently the Owl Creek Gazette - Illinois, owned an operated by Bill and Shanan Strode, is serving as the flagship publication for this new endeavor, 2) the Owl Creek Anthology series, 3) The Creekside Poet books and more! ______________________________________

The original Owl Creek Gazette was founded, owned, and operated by husband and wife team, Don and Jan Stover in 2011.

Recognizing self-reliance as both a lifestyle and a state of mind, the Stovers created their unique publication to focus not only on the nuts and bolts of being (and becoming more) self-reliant, but also to offer up inspirational and philosophical content to encourage the independent and self-reliant spirit they believed resides in each of us.

Additionally, the Stovers often referred to the Owl Creek Gazette's approach to living and learning as INDEPENDENT, SELF-RELIANT, OFF-THE-GRID, OUT-OF-THE-BOX, VOLUNTARYIST, COMMON SENSE ... and KITSCHY.

Originally based in Greenville, Illinois, the OCG became a valuable and growing resource for OCG readers, writers, advertisers, subscribers, and podcast listeners.

Over time, the publication grew from 12 pages to 24 pages, printing 5,300 copies of the Owl Creek Gazette each month, being distributed in 12 counties throughout Illinois including: Bond, Christian, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Macoupin, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Shelby, St. Clair and Washington, as well as reaching subscribers across the country.

The Stovers also produced a popular weekly podcast for seven years titled Creekside with Don and Jan.  The podcast is still available on a number of venues including podomatic.com ... to give a listen click HERE
